Cloning cylinders facilitate the insulation of clones from individual cells. Clones are isolated by applying a fine layer of grease onto the lower part of the cylinder and placing it on the culture support. After the addition of a small volume of EDTA or trypsin and incubation at 37 °C (which enables the cells to become unstuck), the cells are collected from inside the cylinder and transferred to another support.

There are three different formats for the sterile polystyrene cloning cylinders. The base is slightly wider than the height and provides a good sealed zone. Packaged with 5 in a bag.
